Food-for-Thought Friday: where I post about something that seems ridiculous and laughable until you do the (unbiased) research yourself and come to your own conclusions..
Before I accepted Jesus as the truth and before I understood the Bible..I debated going to a psychic just for “fun,” and without believing in it too much / thinking much of it...I ended up telling a very close friend who is a large part of the reason that I gave Christianity/the Bible any weight, because I could tell her faith was/is extremely genuine.
She had never given me any feelings of judgment for not being a Christian but when I told her I was considering seeing a psychic..for the first time I felt judged. And obviously now I understand what I felt as judgment at the time was really love and wisdom..but it led me to get to the bottom of this issue.
Ive done a lot of study, reading and prayer on issues like this because I think most Christians think there is no truth in lies..but as christians, we know that Lucifer (Satan) ultimately “masquerades as an angel of light.” This means evil disguises itself as good, using deceit and false righteousness to trick people into accepting destructive paths. My call to fellow Christians is to understand how true that is…there is TRUTH in Satan’s lies! (I will eventually do a post about the zodiac because thats a great example of where there is truth in lies).
Ultimately, what I think is most important for topics like this is to be fully knowledgeable and ready to answer nonbelievers’ questions and be able to articulate exactly why these things are not from God and why you should stay far far away from them altogether. And then deliver that message in a patient, kind, and humble way, with an open mind that is willing to be changed with new information.
The point isn’t to be right but to expose darkness in a world that is far more intelligent and complicated than we could ever fully grasp.
