The reason so many people do not understand the Bible is because they have never struggled through it long enough to see how it speaks.

When you actually wrestle with the text, you start to notice recurring phrases, repeated imagery, and obscure details that may seem small at first.. until they keep showing up. And once you notice them you can compare the contexts to reveal the meaning. That is when the text starts to explain itself and you gain deep insight into the words written by the creator of the Universe, Himself.

Torn garments are one of those patterns:

Jacob tears his clothes after drawing the wrong conclusion about Joseph. Saul grabs Samuel’s robe, and the tear becomes a judgment on his kingdom. Ahijah tears a cloak into twelve pieces to make division visible. Elisha tears his own clothes in grief, then takes up Elijah’s mantle. And Torah specifically says the high priest must not tear his clothes.

Then the Passion brings three cloths into view at once. Caiaphas tears his clothes and condemns Jesus. The soldiers divide Jesus’ garments, but deliberately leave His seamless tunic whole. And then ultimately, at His death, the temple curtain is torn in two, from top to bottom.

I am not claiming every one of those scenes comes with a full built-in explanation of the whole pattern. They do not. Gods nature is hidden and revealed to those as a reward for their diligent study.

But Hebrews does tell us where the final tear inevitably leads: through Christ’s blood and His body, the way into God’s presence is opened..lifting the veil for all who believe and put their faith in Him, once and for all. ✝️

📖 Save this post for the next time you’ve got your Bible out and mark each passage/look at the context for each together and you’ll see it for yourself. The Bible isn’t difficult, you simply have to read it..not a devotional, not a sermon, but the actual text itself. If I can do it, so can you. 🤍
