CHRISTIANITY 101 | Defining 'The Gospel'

The word gospel means good news. And the good news is not advice about how to earn your way back to God.  It is the announcement that God has already acted through Jesus Christ: Christ died for our sins. He was buried. He was raised on the third day. According to the Scriptures. That is why the gospel is hope. Not because we were strong enough to reach God, but because Christ came to save us.

And because of Him, the old dividing lines no longer get the final word. Jew or Gentile. Slave or free. Male or female. Christ is sufficient for everyone who believes. The response is simple: repent, believe, follow Christ. That is the good news.
